3 Tips to Work With Your Wedding Caterer

The day you have been dreaming of is finally on your radar- your wedding day!

Some couples take years to plan their special day and some couples plan it in 60 days or less!   We love the excitement of both cases! At Dining With Grace, we have one main goal- to make sure THE FOOD celebrates and represents you.  We are passionate about sharing your story through our focus on crafting high quality cultural and inspired menus for our diverse clients.

Your caterer should be your Culinary + Hospitality Godmother.   What do you wish?  What’s the dream?  What makes you smile?   Load it on us and let us work out the details.

Here are 3 Tips to get the best out of your Caterer relationship!

  1. Your Menu: Love It or Leave It.   Let us know what you love!  Whether it’s the cultural dish at every celebration, a restaurant favorite, or a travel experience you’d like to recreate- let us know.   We want you to be excited about every bite.  Of course, once we know your baseline, we’ll curate a sample menu that we think would be just perfect!

  2. Ask Questions & Be Honest.    We gladly offer complimentary consultation calls for our couples to get to know them and discuss our services.  We are truly here to guide you and recognize that planning for a wedding comes with lots to consider.  We aim to simplify.  The menu is the fun part, you’re going to love it!  However, feel free to openly discuss budgets/ fees, staffing needs and venue to give the caterer enough details for an accurate initial estimate and/or trustworthy discussion.

  3. Understand Your Brand.   Every couple/wedding has a brand.   Every Caterer also has a brand.  Make sure it’s a match!  Often with cultural catering, you must ensure you are working with a reputable and professional caterer.  Dining With Grace is for the couple who desires elegant Pan-African-inspired catering.  For them, presentation, cultural integrity, quality and professionalism is just as important as flavorful or pretty cuisine.   However, we’ll deliver on all the points.  We consider ourselves a mid-luxury Pan-African caterer…only delivering the best.  We understand there can possibly be other lesser priced or more mid-range/casual cultural  vendors but we stand by our experience, quality and services.   With that said, we always desire to work with our amazing clients and can help with finding solutions.

Extra Credit: Please note that despite mindsets around familiarity, cultural foods are typically not easy or inexpensive when done well. Dining With Grace dismantles the myth of cheap Pan-African cuisine.

I hope this helps!  I can’t wait to hear from you and begin planning your special day!
